We are actively seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our team The person in this key role will ensure that all Agency payrolls are processed accurately and on time, while also addressing questions from staff regarding payroll, human resources, benefits, and occupational health. The Payroll Administrator will act as a liaison between department heads and the payroll team, fostering positive relationships and improving customer satisfaction. Additionally, they will use HCM information systems to access and verify employee data when responding to inquiries and be responsible for the following duties: • Prepare manual checks on an as needed basis. • Process and audit payroll related paperwork. • Respond to basic inquiries about: • Paycheck details (e.g., gross pay, deductions, net pay) • Pay periods and pay dates • Time off balances and accruals • Benefits coverage and eligibility • Company policies and procedures • Escalate complex inquiries or issues to the appropriate HR or payroll staff when necessary. • Assist employees with navigating self-service portals for payroll, occupational health, human resources and benefits information. • Provide guidance on how to submit various Payroll and HR-related forms and requests (e.g., address changes, direct deposit updates, benefits enrollment). • Coordinate with other departments to resolve cross-functional employee inquiries. • Manage the internal controls of the payroll department, conducting periodic internal audits. • Develop and implement corrective action plans, when appropriate. • Create and prepare payroll reports to include reports for department heads, as requested. • Prepare and forward journal entries related to payroll. Prepare payroll related account reconciliations. • Delegation of research requests to payroll staff, as needed. • Assist in the development of new and improvement of existing processes and automated systems, i.e.: streamline processes to eliminate duplication, reduce paperwork, simplify user requirements and modify approvals necessary to ensure adequate controls while balancing against cost/benefit considerations. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Business OR One to three (1-3) years’ experience processing payroll • One to three (1-3) years HR Generalist experience, preferred • Strong mathematical and analytical skills • Attention to detail and accuracy • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to maintain confidentiality • Knowledge of federal and state regulations as they relate to payroll • Familiarity with Workday is beneficial • Computer skills, Microsoft Office Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Hours: This is a full-time position. Compensation: $23-$26 hourly, dependent upon experience and education. What’s in it for you?
