Job Description
Works in cooperation with nursing staff and under the direction of the emergency physicians providing timely, efficient and effective acute care of patients utilizing a team model. Performs care including assessments, treatments and medication administration to emergency department patients utilizing skills based on the National Scope of Practice for Paramedics. Minimum Education - HS Diploma or equivalent. - Completion of accredited paramedic education program. Minimum Work Experience - 3 years as a pre-hospital care provider required, experience as a Critical Care Paramedic preferred. - Experience with immobilization and stabilization procedures a plus. Required Licenses/Certifications - Basic airway skills. - Immobilization skills. - IV therapy skills. - Oxygen and ventilation administration skills. - Bleeding control and shock management skills. - Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately. - Ability to move or lift patients and equipment. - Demonstrated proficiency in providing critical care, knowledge, and skills. - Demonstrated moderate knowledge of Medical Terminology. - Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
