Patient Care Coordinator (NW Expressway - OKC,OK) Location: Dental Depot 63rd&NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States of America Job Description Posted: Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 6:00 AM Position Summary The Patient Care Coordinator discusses the doctor-proposed treatment plan and associated costs with patients and/or legal guardians for general dentistry patients. They inform patients of their fiscal responsibilities and assist with third-party billing systems, such as CareCredit. The coordinator reviews dental records for proper coding and works closely with administrative and clinical staff. Essential Functions Incorporates doctor-prescribed treatment plans for general dentistry patients with insurance and financing. Communicates effectively with patients and/or legal guardians regarding proposed treatment plans and associated financial costs. Informs patients of their fiscal responsibilities concerning their insurance coverage. Assists patients with third-party billing systems utilized by Dental Depot. Reviews treatment plans with the Doctor or Dental Office Manager prior to presentation to patients. Utilizes CDT codes. Posts and reviews general dentistry payments and procedures. Balances day sheets for general dentistry and closes the office at least one night per week. Works with administrative and clinical staff to ensure firm financial arrangements for patient treatment. Conducts general dentistry patient recall. Treats patients, visitors, and co-workers with respect and courtesy. Utilizes conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques in managing interpersonal conflict and patient complaints. Efficiently operates assigned computer software (i.e., Eaglesoft and Microsoft Office Suite). Prepares and delivers reports on time. Assists with commencing same-day patient treatment and scheduling follow-up appointments. Creates and follows up with Medicaid pre-authorizations. Prepares daily financial over-the-counter reports. Documents financial arrangements on the Patient Financial Arrangements form. Communicates patient concerns to the Dental Office Manager or Doctor. Complies with Dental Depot policies and procedures, OSHA regulations, and HIPAA regulations. May be required to relocate to other Dental Depot clinics as needed. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Skills&Abilities Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required. Experience: No prior experience necessary. Certifications&Licenses: None required. Computer Skills: Efficiently operates assigned computer software and other equipment, including Eaglesoft and Microsoft Office Suite. Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license and proof of valid vehicle insurance. Annual Motor Vehicle Record Check required if operating Company vehicles. Understanding of insurance frequencies/downgrades and guidelines, including Medicaid. Knowledge of secondary insurance and coordination of benefits. Responsible for over-the-counter collections. Familiarity with 10-key or calculator. Knowledge of CDT Codes and must pass the bi-annual Dental Depot CDT codes test.
