Pastoral Care Practitioner – Calvary Lower Plenty Gardens Permanent Part time position, 3-days a week Progress with purpose at one of Australia’s largest health care providers As the Practitioner, you will have a unique opportunity to help shape the provision of spiritual care of residents, families, and staff, ensuring their diverse spiritual needs are identified and responded to with exceptional sensitivity, compassion, knowledge, and skill. About the role As part of our holistic care of residents, the Pastoral Care Practitioner is responsible for the provision of spiritual care and emotional support at Calvary Lower Plenty Garden home in Lower Plenty. The Practitioner offers support to those in the Home on a regular basis as well as during significant events and life transitions. As a member of the home leadership team, the Practitioner collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, contributing assessments and reviews of the spiritual needs of each resident. Your main duties will include: Providing spiritual care support to residents according to triage priorities As required, providing spiritual care support to residents' family members and to staff Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders About you You are a highly engaged professional practitioner, seeking to uphold the dignity of people living in residential aged care and seeking to make a meaningful contribution to their wellbeing. You possess the following: A tertiary qualification in pastoral care, spiritual direction, counselling or similar Clinical Pastoral Education and/or equivalent is desirable Recent experience working in a similar role in aged care, health care or community care Established skills in preparation, creation, leadership and facilitation of meaningful rituals Eligibility for SCA certified membership With over 130 years’ experience and 18,000 staff and volunteers, we offer an inclusive and welcoming culture where you are valued, drawing on your own strengths, identity and background alongside a team of professionals who care for our patients, residents, and clients.
