Occupational Therapist (OT) tasks will include, but not limited to: Plans and conducts individualized occupational therapy programs in applicable setting to help patients develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily activities. Review authorized orders for therapy services, and perform and document initial evaluation to determine patients’ fine-motor deficits, sensory processing deficiencies, and cognitive perception deficits, and identify the therapeutic needs and goals specific to the patients to maintain, develop, and/or restore fine-motor function, sensory-processing abilities, and muscle strengthening. Perform clinical assessments to define functional impairment and developmental and/or restorative potential. Confer with patient, family, medical treatment team to determine maintenance, developmental, and restorative therapeutic goals. Track and document treatments, responses, and progress. Reevaluate, redefine therapeutic goals, and develop new treatment plans as necessary. Recommend assistive/adaptive equipment for patient to maximize independent ability to carry out daily functionality.
