In 2018, the Minneapolis Veterans Home built a state of the art fixed dental clinic with the support of various grant funds. Since that time, we have continued to expand our care and have received recognition for the quality of services and advocacy for our geriatric resident population. This Dental Hygienist position is a new position as we develop and increase our service delivery model. Working with a contracted team of dentists – this position is primarily responsible for providing dental hygiene and preventative services to the 300 residents of the Minneapolis Veterans Home - and building the recare program which is a strategic goal of our oral health initiative in 2024. This position not only focuses on hygiene services to our residents, but includes the opportunity to provide training and support to our direct care staff in proper brushing and hygiene efforts. If you are passionate about providing high quality oral healthcare services to our aging population – this is the right position for you Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Registration with the Minnesota Board of Dentistry as a Dental Hygienist, in good standing. Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain by time of hire. Preferred Qualifications Experience working as a Dental Hygienist. Experience providing dental services to a geriatric or special needs population. Experience providing 1:1 education regarding brushing techniques.
