The Mental Health Associate is a key member of The BridgeWay team who provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The MHA provides for the personal care and comfort of our patients while providing a safe and caring environment. The MHA participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field preferred. Documented experience working with children (ages 5-12), adolescents (ages 13-18), and/or adults (ages 18 plus) preferred, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred. Licenses or Certifications: Current Arkansas Driver’s License required if approved to transport patients. Current CPR and Handle With Care certifications or must obtain within two (2) weeks of date of hire. Skills and Abilities: Effective oral and written communication skills and knowledge of telephone etiquette is required. Ability to interact in a positive manner and to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, supervisor, and other hospital employees. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to adapt to changes in how information is processed. J-18808-Ljbffr
