About this role: The Medical Provider oversees Medicatation Assisted Treamtent (MAT) clinical operations for new and existing Kentucky Depaartment of Corrections (KYDOC) patients, ensuring comprehensive substance use services, including assessments, treatment, and recovery support. They participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning, develop educational programs on substance abuse, and advocate for quality mental healthcare in alignment with facility protocols. Collaborating with the Statewide Medical Director and Regional leadership, they work to meet the goals and expectations of the KYDOC MAT program. What you bring to the table: Education Medical Doctor (MD) or Osteopathic Doctor (DO) from an accredited university. Experience 2 – 5 years of professional experience working with Medication Assisted Treatment preferred. Two years experience working collaboratively with a team of NP and PAs. Licenses/Certifications Licensed in state of employment to practice medicine. Board certification in Addiction Medicine, preferred. Current DEA license and approval to prescribe buprenorphine. What you will do: Deliver in-service training and consultation to staff and other departments on substance use disorders and related policies. Provide direct patient care for individuals requiring medication-assisted treatment, including assessments to determine stages of change and support during withdrawal. Develop and conduct educational programs on alcohol and drug use, contributing to patient and staff knowledge. Collaborate with medical and detoxification staff to ensure treatment continuity, discharge planning, and integrated aftercare plans aligned with the patient’s master treatment plan. Support NPs, PAs, and other providers within KYDOC, offering expertise and on-call assistance for MAT patient care and management.
