Duties&Responsibilities: DOM Call Center task to schedule, register, and check in patients related to the IDOC program and any other Medicine programs as assigned. Accurately complete the medication reconciliation prior to visits and confirm upcoming clinic visits with site staff. Float to provide coverage in Department of Medicine offsite clinics. Register and check all patients in and out of the Clinic. Ensure that an appropriate setup is needed for each patient and each exam room. Clean and sterilize any equipment as needed. Perform phlebotomy and lab preparation. Assure medical records are available for the physician prior to patient appointments and testing procedures. Take patient vitals, i.e., blood pressure, temperature, height, weight, etc. as needed. Answer any questions the patient may have. Inform the physician of abnormal results as needed. Responsible for greeting all patients and confirming appointments, authorizations, and insurance information. Assist Nurses with responding to patient inquiries. Assure that all information is accurate. Refer to the Director or Nurse as needed. Coordinate with other clinics as needed. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Required: High school graduation or equivalent. Possession of a current/valid certification as a Certified Medical Assistant by an approved certifying board as defined by the employing institution. The approved certifying boards include: American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCTI), and/or National Health Career Association (NHA). Possession of a current/valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support CPR Certification.
