Medical Drive Salt Lake City, UT 84108, USA Schedule : Monday - Friday (40 hrs/wk) 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Department : Material Control - 138 Primary Purpose: The Material Control Specialist is responsible for material planning for ARUP technical operations. This person will analyze and monitor inventory usage to assure material is available to meet needed requirements. This role involves using computer systems, demand and forecasting strategies, and order management with suppliers to maintain an uninterrupted flow of material while optimizing inventory levels. Essential Functions: Works closely with technical operations to determine material and inventory requirements for each technical section and/or test(s). Uses material forecasting systems and techniques to maximize product availability and minimize back orders while minimizing inventory-carrying cost. Works with the warehouse to determine inventory requirements in the main warehouse and satellite warehouses. Utilizes computerized material systems to investigate inventory discrepancies and validate data integrity. Works with all supply chain organizations and technical operations to ensure compliance with inventory-related cost and process standards. Maintains daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly inventory reports. Oversees cycle counting in assigned technical section. Expedites material and solves shipping and delivery problems. Other duties as assigned. Physical and Other Requirements: Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Communicate: Frequently communicate with others. PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling. Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks. Qualifications Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Preferred: Associates Degree or better; Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field. Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in operations management, business, supply chain or equivalent plus two years’ related experience; OR Associate’s degree in related field plus four years’ related experience; OR High School diploma plus six years’ related experience.
