Carter Downtown YMCA is looking for both male and female Massage Therapists to join the team. This position is expected to interact with new and existing members to help them in achieving their health and well-being goals and create a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities. Each therapist will be working in their respective gendered locker rooms for the comfort of the members. Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture. Join us and help transform lives. Qualifications Education&Experience : High school graduate or equivalent preferred. LMT required, ASHI Basic Life Support. The ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Key Focus Areas Talk with members about symptoms, medical history, and desired results. Guide members through service offerings and help them choose the types of massages that would benefit them most. Evaluate members to locate painful or tense areas of the body. Design sessions around members' specific complaints or problem areas. Manipulate muscles or other soft tissues of the body. Listen to members during massages and adjust technique to meet their needs. Provide members with guidance on stretching, strengthening, overall relaxation, and how to improve their posture. Suggest massage schedules for recurring sessions. Document member's condition and progress. Maintain and clean equipment according to the schedule or as requested by supervisor. Follow YMCA policies and procedures; respond to emergency situations. Attend all staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Community: Demonstrates a desire to serve others and fulfill community needs.
