Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems within the plant. This role requires a strong foundation in hydraulics, fabrication, millwrighting, and electrical systems. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, performing preventative maintenance, and adhering to safety protocols. Equipment Maintenance: Conducts routine inspections and tests on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues. Accurately diagnoses equipment malfunctions through observation, listening for unusual sounds, and analyzing machine operation data. Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate equipment issues to supervisors and maintenance team members to facilitate timely resolution. Efficiently dismantles and reassembles machinery, replacing defective parts with new or repaired components. Implements preventative maintenance procedures, including cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of machine parts. Maintains accurate and up-to-date equipment maintenance records. Technical Proficiency: Demonstrates a strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams. Executes general tasks related to heavy mechanical installations and repairs with precision and efficiency. Prioritizes and completes work orders in a timely manner to minimize equipment downtime and optimize production efficiency. Adheres to established standard work procedures and achieves performance targets. Safety and Compliance: Consistently follows all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Actively identifies and reports potential safety hazards to prevent accidents and injuries. Maintains a clean and organized workspace in accordance with 6S methodology. Problem Solving and Teamwork: Effectively troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and implements solutions to restore equipment functionality. Collaborates with maintenance team members and other departments to resolve equipment issues and improve overall plant operations. Provides clear and concise updates to supervisors regarding equipment status and repair progress. Performance Measures The Maintenance Technician will be evaluated based on the following performance metrics: Equipment uptime and mean time between failures (MTBF) Completion of preventative maintenance tasks Adherence to safety protocols and incident rates Work order completion rate and timeliness Quality of repairs and installations Compliance with standard work procedures Work Environment The Maintenance Technician works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, and varying weather conditions. The role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks. Requirements Strong electrical or mechanical background with working knowledge of the other side of your technical experience. Meaning a strong mechanic who can chase wires and has a working understanding of electricity. An electrician who is not afraid to turn a wrench. This plant is going through an overhaul.
