Summary of Work Performed: Under the general supervision of a supervisor or an employee of equal or higher rank, Mfg. Eng. Resource Programmer IV will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for effective design of manufacturing resources including: Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) numerical controlled (NC) programs, Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) tools/fixtures, loft patterns, and operational models with associated 2D drawings. Must have knowledge of shop production and processing operations. Work in accordance with management strategies and concepts as well as program and departmental processes and procedures using Bell Business Systems. May direct, mentor and train one or more employees. Work Performed: Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various Engineering Drawings, Models, Bills of Materials, Technical Specifications, Quality Documents, Bell Process Framework, and departmental procedures as necessary to perform assigned work. Provides MCAD operational models and 2D drawings for manufacturing process planning sequences as required. Provide process liaison support for manufacturing operations when MCAD models with 2D drawings exist as required. Develops, Creates and Maintains Tooling/Fixture definition for manufacturing operations for all media types including MCAD and manual legacy designs. Executes creation and maintenance of CAM programs and operator instructions for Numerical Controlled equipment. Responsible for developing, creating, and maintaining Loft MCAD models, flat patterns and associated digital tooling programs. Working knowledge of NC Programming, Loft, Engineering, Tool Design, Manufacturing and Planning processes and procedures. Skilled in the concept related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances. Supports producibility assessments when requested. Maintains records and schedules of work assigned. Will meet established company cost control standards, schedule and quality requirements to maintain market competitiveness. Provide technical assistance to procurement and suppliers as determined by management. Execute strong communication skills, both verbal and written, required to communicate and interact between internal and external customers. Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge and be prepared to train, direct, instruct, mentor and check/validate Production Engineering work. Required to attend training and complete competency-based testing as required by management to remain current with technological advancements. Educational Requirements: Four (4) years college or eight (8) years of experience in the aircraft industry. Demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.
