Young Americans for Liberty in Austin, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Major Gifts Officer to play a critical role in the fundraising process. This position comes with a typical Monday-Friday office schedule and competitive compensation based on experience with a high-upside bonus structure. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MAJOR GIFTS OFFICER In this Major Gifts Officer role, you are highly skilled in interacting with stakeholders and selling the mission of YAL. Working from our Austin, TX based office, you start each day ready to succeed. Your primary responsibility as our Major Gifts Officer is to work with YAL's development team to effectively communicate our goals and mission with stakeholders and prospects. You also have a keen drive to practice and learn more about the art of fundraising. The Major Gifts Officer manages a mixed portfolio of prospective and current donors, with an expectation of renewing donors beginning at the $5,000 level, and experience with five, six, or seven figure fundraising is preferred but not requisite for this position. The Major Gifts Officer shares in a majority of the fundraising responsibility, driving moves management, and scheduling their own in-person meetings, with an expectation of scheduling 12 - 15 meetings per month. The ideal candidate is proficient in interpersonal communication, relationship building, and has a genuine interest in, care for, and appreciation of others. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MAJOR GIFTS OFFICER At least 2 years of professional experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or other related field. Strategic thinking and planning skills. Professionalism and trustworthiness. Excellent interpersonal communication, listening, and management skills. The ability to develop genuine relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds and viewpoints. A valid driver's license. Given the nature of this role, you need to know how to navigate in major cities, and a willingness to work late evenings and weekends as necessary. The ability to work independently, establish personal goals, plans, timelines, and meet expectations under pressure. Passionate about limited government, fiscal conservatism, and individual liberty.
