*SUMMARY*
Under the direction and supervision of a Department Chief, Nurse Leader or designee, this licensed practical nurse provides direct patient care, meeting both psychological and physical needs of the patients and families. Practices within scope of practice in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Administers medications and performs procedures in accordance with clinician orders and department/specialty/organizational policy, and procedures. Contributes to the continuity and quality of care of the patient while fostering the best interest and well-being of patients and their families. Identifies those situations requiring clinical judgment and decision making and escalates these issues to clinicians.
*EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS*
Graduate of a state-approved school of practical nursing. Possess a current license to practice as a practical nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.
*EXPERIENCE*
Strongly prefer minimum of 1 year of nursing experience. Experience with an electronic medical records system required.
*SKILLS*
Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Up to date with current standard of nursing care in Specialty. Consistent and accurate in documentation and follows documentation policies. Demonstrates ability to prioritize, multitask and work in a rapidly changing environment with multiple demands. Demonstrates excellence in practice, documentation and cost effective care utilization. Maintain high patient satisfaction. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Fluent in basic computer skills.

*Responsibilities*
* Provide direct patient care in an internal medicine setting, utilizing LPN skills such as catheterization, patient assessment, and tube feeding.
* Utilize EMR and EHR systems for accurate documentation and patient care coordination.
* Demonstrate proficiency in basic life support and HIPAA regulations.
* Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Apply knowledge of physiology to assess and address patient needs effectively.
* Utilize premium skills like critical care experience and triage in a fast-paced medical environment.
