Job Description Job Description Prominent Personal Injury and Civil Rights law firm has an immediate opening for a detail-oriented Legal Secretary . This is a full-time, in-office (not remote) position located in Southfield, MI. Must have at least 2 years of experience supporting personal injury or insurance defense attorneys Responsibilities: Assist 3 attorneys with all facets of civil litigation, including: Preparing legal pleadings and correspondence. Maintaining files. Managing attorney calendars. Ensuring deadlines are met. Drafting and filing legal documents. Scheduling and coordinating depositions. Reviewing and assembling documents for production. E-filing in state and federal courts. Transcribing Dictation. Scheduling and coordinating meetings and travel arrangements for attorneys. Provide concierge-level service for clients. Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience as a legal assistant supporting civil litigation attorneys. Bachelor’s degree in legal studies or related field preferred. Familiarity with legal terminology, state and federal court filing rules, and law office protocol. Must respect and maintain confidentiality at all times Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. Ability to adapt to and learn new technology, software programs and upgrades. Excellent grammar, proofreading, transcription, and organizational skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with attorneys and staff members. Must be a self-starter with the ability to handle deadlines and stressful situations in a calm and professional manner. Willingness to work in a team-oriented service environment and provide excellent service. Ability to problem-solve and arrange workload in order of importance to meet deadlines.
