Job Description Job Description The Miami office of a national law firm has an immediate need for a legal secretary/assistant. This position requires an experienced, well-organized and independent individual to provide support to the attorneys at a busy defense law firm. All resume submissions will be kept confidential. Duties include, but are not limited to: Processes intake form at case inception. Creates and maintains case files. Processes incoming documents, including but not limited to mail and emails, and distributes to the required parties. Scans all incoming correspondence and ensures they are saved in the proper folder with the correct naming convention. Prepares outgoing documents, including but not limited to drafting, proofreading, revising and redacting. Performs general clerical and administrative duties. Handles electronic filing with federal and state courts and numerous arbitration forums. Communicates with outside parties regarding case-related needs. Calendars and schedules case-related events (depositions, mediations, etc.), as needed. Assists with overflow work and other projects, as needed. Position Skills and Qualifications Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage time effectively Strong technology skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) Ability to multitask and prioritize to successfully complete multiple assignments Availability for overtime, as needed Knowledge of FL Court rules Professional demeanor and detail oriented work manner Strong written and verbal communication skills Educational Requirements and Compensation Associates Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred Salary commensurate with experience and skills
