The Brittain Law Firm is a single attorney firm that is looking to add a new team member to accommodate its growing practice. The Firm is seeking a trained paralegal who is interested in learning new skills and adding their experience to a team of professionals serving Cumberland County. Charles Brittain serves as Cumberland County’s public guardian and his law practice is solely dedicated to serving as guardian of the estate for individuals in need who have been adjudicated as incompetent by the Court. He also serves as fiduciary for Veterans who have been deemed in need by the US Department of Veterans Affairs. As guardian and fiduciary, Mr. Brittain and the staff of the Brittain Law Firm handles financial affairs for approximately 200 individuals in Cumberland County and across southeastern North Carolina. Responsibilities as guardian and fiduciary can also require the Brittain Law Firm to represent the interests of its Wards or Veterans in a variety of areas of law to include property, civil, criminal, estate, etc. Experience in Microsoft, Excel and QuickBooks is a plus, but a willingness and ability to learn as well as a patient and compassionate spirit are even more important.
