Job Description Job Description Under direction, provide high level administrative assistance to the General Counsel/Vice President; perform a full range of varied, complex, sensitive, highly responsible, and confidential office exercise judgment and initiative; and serve as liaison with clients, insurance agents, securities representatives, regulatory authorities', retained counsel, adverse counsel and other departments and companies within a holding company system. The companies served are a life insurance company, a securities broker/dealership, diversified holding company, a farming dairy operation and affiliated not-for profit religious charitable organizations. Responsibilities The applicant must be able to assist the General Counsel/Vice President with the following areas: 1. Grievance Processing · Maintain a system designed to log, respond to and resolve grievances · Communicate with clients, agents, registered securities agents, insurance department personnel and, on occasion, retained outside counsel. This is done almost entirely by telephone and written communication. · Determine the reasons and factors behind the grievance and work towards problem resolution where possible · Respond in a timely manner · Track all grievance related communications 2. Corporate Matters · Maintain corporate articles, bylaws, minutes, resolutions and fictitious name registrations for multiple corporate entities · Communicate with the Missouri Secretary of State and the Missouri Department of Insurance and multiple other domestic and foreign government and departments 3. Outside Counsel · Coordinate and communicate with retained outside counsel, adverse counsel and auditors regarding financial audits, litigation and administrative actions Qualifications 1. General · Excellent spoken communication skills · Excellent writing and editing skills · Must be meticulous with strong attention to detail · Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality since the position frequently involves privileged communications · Must be able to maintain diplomacy in spoken and written communications with clients, company agents, regulators and other companies/departments within the holding company system · Must be reliable in work attendance · Must be organized · Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team · Must be adaptable · Must be able to quickly learn and retain information and processes · Must possess excellent trouble shooting abilities and creativity in finding solutions · Must be able to work well under stress on occasion 2.
