Carmel Partners , one of the nation’s leading specialists in real estate investment management, with expertise in the investment, development, and construction of multi-family real estate, is seeking a Capital Finance Intern in our San Francisco headquarters for the spring and summer semesters of 2025 . The Capital Finance Intern will support a team of five in debt underwriting, financing, and loan management for a diverse portfolio of prospective investments and existing multifamily and mixed-use assets. This position involves conducting research and tackling special projects, providing invaluable experience in the real estate investment management industry. What you’ll do Support the capital finance team in securing debt for new investments and refinancing existing assets. Engage in all aspects of placing and closing debt capital market transactions, including preparing finance offering memoranda, reviewing legal documents, managing due diligence, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. Manage the lender reporting process to ensure timely and accurate information flow. Monitor the third-party debt management platform/s to maintain up-to-date records. Conduct research and review financial and market information to support investment decisions. Take on additional duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned. What you’ll bring Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree with demonstrated academic excellence. Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling is a plus. Demonstrated understanding of financial statements. A genuine interest in the real estate industry, with past internship experience being a plus. Compensation and Benefits The compensation for this position is $30 per hour.
