USA Jet Power In 2022, to support its fleet of jet engines and to allow it to provide services to other operators and leasing companies, USA Jet Airlines established USA Jet Power. USA Jet Power is 14 CFR Part 145 Air Agency Repair Station located in Oscoda Michigan authorized to perform maintenance, inspection and testing on Pratt and Whitney JT8D turbofan engines that are certificated to operate upon Boeing 727, 737, Douglas DC-9 and MD88 aircraft. USA Jet Power is housed in a state-of-the-art 51,000 sq ft facility that supports its engine repair operations and parts warehousing. What You’ll Do Determine engine airworthiness via visual and functional testing of the engine and its components. Ensure all preventive maintenance, repairs, and alterations on Powerplant and Appliances are completed in accordance with applicable Maintenance Manuals, FAR’s and Company Policies and Procedures. Approve the completeness, correctness and quality of all work performed including the accuracy of Powerplant Build Package entries. Inspect modifications and/or repairs for safety workmanship and serviceability. Reject all work that does not meet manufacturer specifications, company or FAA regulations and report such rejections to the Lead Inspector and Director of Quality. Conduct final operational checks, testing, and troubleshooting of Powerplant systems. Supervise mechanics and determine adequacy for the work performed. Maintain necessary records as required for routine, non-routine, and customer request work cards. Sign off Powerplants and components as structurally and functionally complete. Accomplish the final acceptance of all incoming material, including new parts, supplies, and the airworthiness of articles on which work has been processed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Inspector or Director of Quality. What You’ll Bring Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License preferred, Minimum Repairman’s certificate required. Minimum of 3 years of Aviation Maintenance Technician experience on powerplants or equivalent combination of education or experience. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives (AD). Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently. Authorized to act on behalf of the FAA 145 repair facility. May be required to work off station and work overtime as assigned by the Lead Inspector. Read, write, and understand the English language. Ability to identify and resolve issues and creatively solve problems. Must remain calm during adverse conditions and react quickly to time-sensitive problem situations. Computer software knowledge of Microsoft Office platforms including Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, reach/handle items, work with their hands, and lift/move items 10-20lbs. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift/move items 20-50lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Additional Considerations Must be able to travel on short notice for maintenance and/or aircraft recovery/repairs. Must have or obtain a valid passport within 90 days of hire. Must possess the minimum tools as outlined on departmental tool list. Must complete the TSA Security Training Program provided by USA Jet Airlines. Must pass an initial and random Drug and Alcohol screening process, and a Fingerprint Based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and/or Security Threat Assessment (STA) as required by the TSA.
