Financial Portfolio Analyst Job Code: Psych-LPPI-ACAF Job Type: Full Time Job ID: 77982BR Job Summary The Financial Portfolio Post Award Analyst is a critical member of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DPBS) Financial Services Team and plays a crucial role in the overall successful support and management of funding for the Faculty&Principal Investigators specifically in Post Award Funds Management. This position offers a collaborative work environment and benefits from the vast pool of experience within the Team, which is ready to provide support and training to new members. The Analyst independently provides broad analytical fund management to a group of research-focused Faculty, with overall complex budget, financial, and resource analysis. Strong communication skills are necessary to present and discuss data and reports to various client groups. The candidate will research, interpret, clarify, and apply all applicable Grants&Contracts, Agency, Departmental, and University policies and regulations, clearly communicating the complexities involved. This position requires a high level of ethics and professional standards to handle sensitive matters with tact and sound judgment. The Analyst will participate in larger dynamic Team projects, which will help build experience, understanding, and networking skills for successful career development at UCSF. This is a hybrid-remote position, which includes a combination of 2 days on-site and remote work. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related area and a minimum of three years of experience or equivalent combination of experience/training. Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems. Current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of fund management and administration. Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal, and reporting principles. Competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports. Independent judgment, strong organization, communication skills, and customer service focus. Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Ability to independently gather required information to organize and perform financial analysis assignments. Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports. Proven ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Ability to function as a member of a team. Ability to manage a significant volume of transactions. Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting. Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
