Higginbotham , a privately held, independent insurance and financial services firm that ranks within the top 20 nationwide, has an immediate opening for a Field Services Technician for our Houston, TX office. The Field Services Technician is responsible for providing hardware and software support, including troubleshooting, installation, configuration, and maintenance of active directory, deploying, and maintaining desktops, laptops, printers, and other technology devices used in the day-to-day operations of the business. This team member interacts directly with other IT department employees and end users and will be required to provide customer-oriented technical support. In addition to supporting local end users, they will work with users in other office locations as well as various internal&external groups to support the IT infrastructure and strategies through remote support and/or onsite visits. This position requires travel to remote offices for support or for the conversion of new or acquired offices to Higginbotham infrastructure and software and may also include off hour scheduling including some weekend work. Provide support to end-users, answering questions and solving technical issues via remote or onsite assistance Ability to install, configure, update and repair computer hardware and software Ability to move computer equipment and telephones Ability to train users on essential tasks Ability to travel to remote offices including overnight or longer stays. Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Positive and professional customer service attitude and behavior Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to work without direct supervision Must have good written and verbal communication skills Location: Houston, TX In office position Experience and Education: High school diploma or equivalent Undergraduate degree or technical degree preferred in computer related field (Relative work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education) 3 – 4 years IT or computer related work experience preferred A Certification preferred Microsoft Certified Professional preferred Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving technical issues Experience with Windows 10 workstations and Microsoft Office applications Experience deploying and end-user support of UCaaS (VoIP) and web conferencing systems Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Server is a plus Physical Requirements: 30% travel annually to various sites within the United States Ability to lift 25 pounds Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person Walking, bending, sitting, reaching and stretching in all directions J-18808-Ljbffr
