Firehawk is looking for a dedicated and experienced Safety Engineer to support our mission of creating cutting-edge defense solutions while prioritizing safety and environmental responsibility. The Safety Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that Firehawk Aerospace maintains the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental protection throughout its operations. Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as industry-specific standards and guidelines. Conduct thorough risk assessments of workplace and test range environments. Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire, chemical and hazardous material spills. Manage and oversee environmental compliance, including hazardous material and waste management. Prepare and deliver presentations at technical reviews and customer briefings. Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures. Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents. Coordinate and conduct safety training programs for employees. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies. Continuously assess and enhance EHS programs. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of relevant EHS experience. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds; may require minimal walking, standing for extended amounts of time, climbing, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen. Security Clearance: May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.
