Northern Light A.R. Gould Department: Environmental Svcs - LTC-SNF Position is located: Aroostook Health Center-Presque Isle, ME Work Type: Full Time Hours Per Week: 40 Hour/Week Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Summary: Cleans and services assigned building areas; moves furniture, equipment, hospital waste, and supplies in and around assigned areas. Works to ensure that the Hospital is clean and safe for patients, visitors, and other employees. Responsibilities: Dustmops, mops, buffs, strips, and waxes floors. Runs buffers, wet vacuums, and automatic floor scrubber. Vacuums and shampoos carpets and upholstery. Washes walls, windows, light fixtures, and vents, as assigned. Must be able to work with germicidal and other cleaning detergents. Changes cubicle and window curtains, as needed. Moves furniture as required. Gathers trash and dirty linens, as needed or assigned. Does courier runs to downtown vendors or to outlying towns. Sets up conference rooms for meetings, as needed. Must be able and willing to clean isolation rooms according to established guidelines, as needed. Must be able to follow established safety methods and procedures as outlined in organizational and department policies. Must possess knowledge of cleaning techniques for each type of floor surface. Must possess the ability to work independently and maintain productivity. Must be able to learn other positions within the scope of the EVS Tech II realm, such as waste handling, operations of floor equipment, and courier runs as needed. Must be able to get forklift training and certification. Other Information: Must hold an insurable, valid driver license. Must be willing to work alternating weekends, holidays, and assist in other departments as needed.
