Urgent opening for a Nurse practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in the Emergency Department for the New York location. Responsibilities Assess and treat patients presenting with acute medical conditions and injuries in the emergency department. Perform necessary medical procedures, including administering injections and botulinum toxin treatment when indicated. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. Conduct thorough evaluations using medical imaging and other diagnostic tools to determine appropriate treatment options. Maintain infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and minimize the risk of hospital-acquired infections. Provide inpatient care as needed, including managing patients in the ICU when required. Participate in educational activities, including teaching residents and medical students about emergency medicine practices. Stay current with advancements in medical terminology and emergency care protocols. Emergency Medicine Experience Required. May be either a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Would work in triage. An emergency Medicine physician would be on-site. · Assignment Dates: December 2024 – March 2025, with potential for ongoing coverage needs. 156 hours per month. · Schedule: May vary.
