Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Health Equity’s leadership team in the role of Director – Health Equity. The Director of Health Equity is responsible for working with the senior leadership team and key stakeholders across the IU Health system to develop and direct IU Health's health equity 5–10-year system-wide strategic plan to deliver equitable access, experience, and outcomes to IU’s diverse patient populations and the communities that we serve. This Director leads the development and execution of programs and activities that support equitable care, with a clinical portfolio that currently focuses on, but is not limited to, Cardiovascular Health Equity and Behavioral Health Equity. This role leads the implementation, execution, and outcome evaluation of a program of work aimed at measuring and detecting disparities and combating health care inequities with evidence-based interventions and performance improvement strategies to drive more equitable patient access and clinical outcomes. This leader is accountable for the developing and directing the successful execution of health equity strategies and initiatives, along with their financial management. The director oversees a portfolio of grant funded interventions and has oversight for ensuring key performance measure reporting, invoicing, and reimbursements occur. This leader works closely with Community Health team to develop relationships with community health partners and creates and fosters strategic partnerships. This role seeks outside funding to promote programming across the state through the wise use of scarce resources. This position ensures performance metrics are incorporated into transformational improvement efforts, utilizing A3 thinking and tools. The Director develops, monitors, and reports on operational performance, trending analysis, and special projects related to growth and financial performance. This Director will represent our clinical health equity efforts externally across the organization and in various internal leadership settings. Key Relationships Reports to: Chief Health Equity Officer Candidate Qualifications Candidates for the position will be selected from a diverse pool and will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies. Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred. Requires 8 years of relevant experience. Requires 4 years of people leader experience. Clinical background or training preferred. Knowledge required in quality or process improvement, public health, strategic planning and partnerships, managing, engaging, and development teams, data interpretation, performance measurement, and A3 thinking. Experience leading clinical operations or clinical quality improvement preferred.
