Job Description

The Providence Center Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) provides short-term care for patients experiencing an acute psychiatric and/or substance use crisis that could escalate to a point of requiring hospitalization. As an alternative to hospitalization or as a step-down for a transition between levels of care, the CSU’s services focus on stabilizing clients and addressing their mental health and substance use needs. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct follow-up assessments and evaluate client health care data collected through interviewing, observation, record review, and team input. Analyze assessment data in conjunction with Registered Nurse to formulate the basis of nursing care. Identify expected outcomes of care, individualized to the client, with the ultimate goal of improving the client’s overall health status. Administer medications per prescriber’s orders and monitor lab results as indicated. Collaborate with the staff members in providing care to clients. Maintain cooperative relationships with clients, staff, and the public. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Rhode Island licensed LPN required or Registered Nurse preferred. Knowledge and experience with psychotropic medication, and ability to work well with professionals from other disciplines in a team approach. Experience with addictions populations preferred.
