Core Java Developer with Fixed Income Experience Location: Flexible Hybrid Schedule Job Type: 6-12 month contract with liklihood of extension or full-time conversion Brooksource is seeking a skilled Core Java Developer with extensive experience in the Fixed Income space for a prestigious financial institution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java programming and a deep understanding of Fixed Income products, including corporate and government bonds. This role requires a developer who can contribute to the architecture and scalability of our client’s bond trading systems. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain high-performance Java applications for Fixed Income trading. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and optimized bond trading systems. Engage in discussions about pricing models and algorithms, and contribute to the development of pricing solutions. Work with a variety of Fixed Income products, including corporate bonds, government bonds, yields, and curve building. Provide architectural insights and solutions to enhance system performance and scalability. Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software delivery. Qualifications: Core Java Expertise: Proficiency in Java SE, including multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization. Fixed Income Knowledge: Strong understanding of Fixed Income products, such as bonds, interest rates, and credit derivatives. Pricing Models: Experience with pricing models and algorithms used in Fixed Income trading is a plus. Financial Systems: Familiarity with financial systems and platforms used for trading and risk management. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to handle complex financial data. Architecture: Experience in system architecture, scalability, and optimization. Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with corporate and government bonds. Knowledge of yield curves and curve building. Background in financial services or a related industry. Quantitative skills or experience working with quantitative teams.
