Shapes Supply is looking for a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects by analyzing blueprints, gathering information and data. The ideal candidate will have good math skills and an analytical mindset. Responsibilities Understand construction projects, prints and its requirements. Determine important factors for cost to determine estimates. Develop scope of work. Conduct research to obtain data on costs, materials, production times, etc. Obtain and review offers and quotes by vendors. Create and submit detailed estimate reports or bids to project managers and clients. Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, project managers, and estimators). Provide advice on planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.). Participate in scope of work meetings with project management. Requirements Proven experience as estimator or similar position. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in construction management or a related field. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain good working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and other business partners. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy of information. The drive to deliver high-quality work under very strict deadlines. Knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, Procore, and Building Connected. General working proficiency of estimating and takeoff software. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy. Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints and perform detailed and accurate take-offs. Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical specifications and special provisions. Additional projects as needed.
