Open Until Filled GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Wyoming Retirement Center is seeking qualified individuals for the full-time position of Certified Nursing Assistant. This position requires a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to help nursing staff provide quality health care for persons in a home-like setting. CNAs will exhibit compassion and respect while caring for persons with mental health, dementia, and medical needs. The Wyoming Retirement Center is located in Basin, Wyoming, with many outdoor activities available. This position is eligible for a $2,000 hiring bonus. See notes for eligibility and conditions. Cares for the personal needs, comforts, and safety of persons with mental health, dementia, and physical needs. Assists persons with mobility, eating, and personal care. Takes blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration values. Applies prescribed safety devices to the environment of persons we care for (i.e., braces and splints, etc.). Documents all care provided with written entries in medical records. Assists in maintaining proper infection control procedures. Documents weekly progress toward group and intervention participation. Participates in treatment team meetings and shift change reports. PREFERENCES/AGENCY REQUIREMENTS: Preference may be given to those with experience in a long-term care facility. Agency requires a current CNA license. KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of basic nursing assistant procedures and responsibilities. Knowledge and use of infection control techniques. Knowledge of using and maintaining simple nursing equipment (O2, prosthetics, lifts, etc.). Knowledge and use of good body mechanics and proper lifting techniques. Ability to work on a team. Ability to be observant and communicate subtle changes to charge nurses. Ability to use good oral and written communication skills. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate's Degree (typically in Healthcare) Experience: No prior experience is required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CNA Certification obtained within twelve (12) months of hire. OR Education&Experience Substitution: 1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Human Services) OR Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CNA Certification obtained within twelve (12) months of hire. PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to: Lift/transfer persons to different positions. Lift persons and/or medical equipment of varying sizes and weights up to approximately 50 lbs. Work holidays, evenings, nights, and/or weekends as scheduled. NOTES: FLSA: Non-exempt The position is full-time. For the health and protection of the persons, we care for, annual influenza vaccination is required, and annual testing for tuberculosis. A background information check will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wyoming Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
