ABOUT GST Grand Slam Track is a premier global professional track league featuring matchups between the fastest stars in the sport. Founded by track legend Michael Johnson, the league will host four annual Slams taking place between April and September, with eight Racers competing in one of 12 event groups. At the beginning of each season, four Racers per group make the starting roster to contest each Slam. The next four Racers in each group are the Challengers, whose recent performances unlock a lane to the most compelling head-to-head clashes on earth. Each athlete will compete twice over the course of the weekend with the best combined placing determining the Slam champion. POSITION OVERVIEW As the Chief of Staff at GST, you will play a pivotal role in balancing strategic thinking with swift execution. Your ability to bring clarity, control, and structure to ambiguous environments is essential. You thrive on innovative ideas and aren’t afraid to share your insights. As a strategic advisor and operational leader, you will enhance communication across departments, align key stakeholders, and drive critical initiatives. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives to support the company's growth and vision, aligning workstreams to the bigger picture of elevating the sport’s stars, rivalries, consumption, and experience. Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, improving processes to ensure smooth execution and efficiency across functions. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Act as a liaison and disseminate information to relevant stakeholders - both internally and externally - in a way that is clear and engaging. Represent the company in various settings, building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders. Project Management: Lead and manage high-impact projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering on deadlines. Identify risks and roadblocks, deploying mitigating actions to ensure successful project delivery. Executive Support: Provide direct support to the President&COO and Founder, including preparing presentations, conducting research, assisting in follow through on initiatives. Fan and Athlete Experience: Contribute to designing and enhancing the fan and athlete experience, ensuring a memorable and positive interaction with the league. Innovation and Change Management: Be the driver of innovation and manage organizational changes effectively, ensuring the company adapts to new opportunities and challenges. Cultural Development: Build and maintain a positive and inclusive organizational culture, fostering a sense of belonging aligned with the company's values and mission. QUALIFICATIONS 8 years in a similar type of role Goal-oriented and able to prioritize regularly in a dynamic environment Capable of working with a diverse group of cross-functional internal and external partners, while managing multiple projects and deadlines Strong service orientation to build credibility and trust Strategic analysis capabilities to leverage research, set and measure goals, and synthesize data into insights to inform decision making Ability to operate both at a high-level, strategic view, and at a granular, tactical level.
