ASRC Federal Systems Solutions, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Chief Engineer in anticipation of favorable award of an upcoming contract in the Beltsville, MD area. Program Overview: The Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (O&M&S) program supports a range of advanced technology networks and infrastructure essential to high-priority missions in aerospace and defense. These networks provide critical communication, data transport, and tracking services for both government and commercial clients involved in complex mission operations. The program ensures the seamless integration and operation of sophisticated ground-based and space-based systems, contributing to mission success and ongoing modernization efforts. Position Summary: The Chief Engineer provides technical leadership for space communication and geodetic infrastructure, ensuring all engineering solutions meet stringent performance and operational standards. This role includes integrating advanced and emerging technologies, managing technical risk, and ensuring alignment with mission-critical requirements. The Chief Engineer is also responsible for maintaining lifecycle optimization strategies and leading collaborative technical responses to emerging challenges. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of engineering plans for ground and space systems, addressing current operational needs and integrating future advancements. Provide technical oversight for network operations, ensuring adherence to system-level agreements and compliance with performance benchmarks. Oversee risk assessments, identifying technical vulnerabilities, and implementing effective mitigations. Manage configuration control processes to ensure consistency, reliability, and lifecycle optimization across systems. Lead technical responses to system challenges, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve mission success. Drive the adoption of advanced and emerging technologies to enhance system capabilities and performance. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field. At least 10 years of experience leading systems engineering efforts for large-scale programs. Expertise in managing complex networks and ground systems for space operations. Familiarity with risk management methodologies and lifecycle optimization strategies. Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineering (PE) certification or equivalent. Experience with advanced communication and navigation systems, including integration of emerging technologies.
