Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work closely with occupational therapists to provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. This role is essential in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals through tailored therapeutic interventions. Responsibilities Assist occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans based on patients' needs and goals. Provide direct patient care by guiding patients through therapeutic activities and exercises. Monitor and document patient progress, ensuring accurate records are maintained according to medical standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and modify care plans as necessary. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and home exercises to promote recovery. Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with health regulations. Stay updated on medical terminology and best practices within occupational health. Experience Previous experience in inpatient, outpatient, or skilled nursing facility settings is preferred. Familiarity with acute care, pediatrics, home health, and patient care practices is highly desirable. Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy while working with diverse patient populations.
