The Southwest region of SmithGroup is looking for a Recreation and Wellness Design Strategist to join our team. Although the ideal candidate may reside anywhere, the preference is to be within or in close proximity to the Southwest regional offices (Dallas, Houston, Phoenix or Denver). Working with us, you will: Serve as a nationally visible Recreation and Wellness Leader through thought leadership, project work and business development efforts Lead in winning work, delivering innovative programming, planning, and/or design, and providing project oversight in conjunction with our Market Directors, local Studio Leaders and various local project teams Serve as key leadership on collegiate and municipal projects within the Recreation and Wellness market Oversee relationships for Recreation and Wellness clients Develop space programs, design concepts, define project requirements, and provide recommendations specific to Recreation and Wellness facilities and environments Strengthen and grow SmithGroup’s national market expertise Provide mentorship to junior, mid-level and senior level interiors/architecture staff throughout the design process to assure proper design development, technical guidance, and career growth Lead meetings with internal/external team members and project stakeholders defining key goals and objectives Serve as pursuit champion for project pursuits and interviews Responsible for thought leadership representing SmithGroup including public/industry speaking and contributing to publications Minimum Requirements: 10 years of experience and a professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design A licensed architect or interior designer (preferred) An expert or thought leader in the Recreation and Wellness industry Expertise in the full range of Recreation and Wellness planning and design including campus recreation, athletics, student health and wellness, and municipal recreation Comfort with technology tools for virtual collaboration and mobile work SmithGroup's competitive compensation and benefit package is designed to meet the needs of a diverse staff.
