Urgent need for Physician Assistant Cardio-Thoracic Surgery in Pennsylvania

Schedule: 1 day per week, 1 weekend a month
Call: Occasional Weeknight or weekend call, less than 5 callbacks a month
EMR: Epic
Trauma: 2
Patient Volume: 10-15 OR cases a week
Skills: Endoscopic Vein harvesting, Cardiac OR, Assist in coverage of CVICU, Open and Closure of Sternum

*Responsibilities*
* Perform surgical procedures with precision and expertise, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
* Conduct thorough patient assessments prior to surgery, including reviewing medical histories and diagnostic tests.
* Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other medical staff during surgical procedures to ensure seamless operations.
* Provide post-operative care and monitor patients for any complications or necessary interventions.
* Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including documentation of surgeries performed and patient progress.
* Engage in ongoing research to stay current with advancements in surgical techniques and emergency medicine practices.
* Participate in training and mentoring of junior staff members or residents in the surgical department.
* Ensure compliance with ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation of diagnoses and procedures.
