Job Summary: Working under general supervision, performs general preventative maintenance and corrective repair of building systems and equipment. Assists in monitoring building system operations and equipment inspections. Will utilize skills in plumbing, electrical work, painting, flooring repair, and general mechanics. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Perform all necessary mechanical maintenance and operational procedures to assure maximum life and reliability of all mechanical systems. Knowledgeable in Back Flow Prevention Inspections/repairs and required documentation. Ability to proficiently repair pumps, process, storm, and sanitary drains. Manage building maintenance supplies. Inform supervisor and/or planner when supplies/parts are needed. Responsible for general maintenance and operational duties which include, but are not limited to, performance testing, maintenance, adjustment, and care of plumbing systems, building systems, and other mechanical systems. Perform inspections of the roof, floors, walls, overhead lights, emergency lights, dock leveling systems, eyewash stations, and safety showers. Respond to and complete work orders and PMs in a timely manner, including typical requests such as roll-up doors, dock doors and ramps, painting, minor electrical, minor floor repair, and miscellaneous requests. Maintain a neat and professional appearance at the workplace at all times. Proactively inspect the interior and exterior of building appearance and condition. Create and complete work orders based on findings of these inspections in a timely manner. Assist other technicians when needed. SAFETY Maintain safety and quality awareness around line or process machinery. Maintain a clean work area and adhere to all GMPs and safety policies such as LO/TO and Personal Protective Equipment. Responsible for compliance with the safety policy and accident prevention programs. Report hazards, injuries/illnesses, and other losses to supervisors. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Computer experience. Some college or technical school preferred. 2 years of experience is preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and rates. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES Computer literacy, teamwork, multi-tasking, prioritizing, problem assessment/troubleshooting, results-driven, initiative, quality orientation, attention to detail, safety awareness, and adaptability. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Able to lift at least 50 lbs., climb a ladder, bend, twist, crawl, and jump. Able to work in tight spaces and outside in extreme weather conditions. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
