Our building development project management program team is seeking a qualified and experienced professional with superior knowledge of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, Use Group and Certificate of Occupancy requirements that can demonstrate a strong comprehension of applicable building regulations specific for business use purposes. Problem solving is essential to the success of the program. If you want to be challenged and have the opportunity to make a difference…come join our Team About This Role: In this role, you will support both commercial real estate development projects and small business owner-led projects, which requires thorough knowledge of county policies and code specifications that can range from large data center building plans to small tenant lease space requirements. Typical duties include: Project management Facilitating a Multi-Disciplinary Team, Early Assistance and Issue Resolution Meetings Serving as the Project Management Branch Representative on Process Action Teams Maintaining accurate project records Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma and 6 years e xperience as a Project Manager, Plans Reviewer or Construction/Code Enforcement Inspector. Preferences: A background in building construction project management and customer service experience is strongly preferred. Strong leadership and organizational skills Demonstrated experience managing processes, projects and process improvement teams Thorough knowledge of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC) Demonstrated ability to apply building code exemptions and exceptions to projects Work Schedule: This position works a standard Monday-Friday schedule, working 37.5 hours per week. This position offers the ability to telework 1-2 days per week after an initial probationary period. The schedule may however revert to in-office scheduling as business needs change. Special Requirements: Valid Driver's License Must become certified by the State of Virginia as a Technical Assistant to the Building Official within 18 months of employment, which includes Virginia Certified Commercial Plans Reviewer. Starting Salary Range: $98,100.00 - $107,834.33 /yr.
