Department: Adult Education Summary of Job Duties: The UACCM Adult Education Workforce Preparation Teacher works under the supervision of the Director of Adult Education and will be responsible for the development and delivery of Integrated Education and Training (IET) and Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy (WAGE) instruction in Conway, Faulkner, Perry, and Van Buren counties. Weekly travel throughout UACCM's four-county service area will be required. The work schedule will consist of daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours. JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Develop and deliver Integrated Education and Training (IET) instructional programs designed to meet the needs of local business and industry. Develop and deliver Level II instructional programs for the Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy (WAGE) certification program. Deliver instruction associated with the WAGE Level I certification program. Coordinate WAGE instruction throughout UACCM's four county service area. Develop business/industry partnerships under the guidance of the UACCM Director of Adult Education and the UACCM Vice Chancellor for Academics. Develop customized workforce preparation instructional programs to meet the needs of business and industry partners. Prepare students for the GED examination process. Assist students with the development of digital literacy skills. Provide learning activities designed to enhance financial literacy skill sets. Acquire the skills needed to proctor the Test of Adult Education (TABE) assessment and the GED examination. Serve as an Arkansas Adult Education approved Career Coach after completion of a mandatory training program. Participate in staff meetings. Other duties as assigned. The successful candidate must have a commitment to working cooperatively with all campus personnel to fulfill the Mission of UACCM, and deliver quality customer services. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The formal education of a bachelor's degree is required. Full-time Adult Education teachers are required to hold a valid Arkansas Department of Education Educator's License. A full-time teacher that does not have a license in Adult Education must obtain Adult Education licensure within three (3) years of the date of his/her initial employment as a full-time teacher. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience providing WAGE instruction and administering the TABE assessment is preferred. Additional Information: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of adult learner and alternative educational methods and have the ability to apply these methods for adult, at-risk teens and multi-cultural students. Ability to teach students of diverse abilities and backgrounds and overcome barriers to success in a multi-level class. Ability to build a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Ability to relate well to different groups of students of different ages and ability levels. Must be computer literate. Ability to use a variety of audio-visual equipment. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and through correct written grammar and usage. Must have good classroom management skills. Must have strong desire to work with people from a broad range of backgrounds. Team-player who can collaborate with colleagues. Participate in curriculum development. Attend in-service, staff meetings and state training. Maintain clean and professional classroom environment. Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
